N’siders presented in Greenville at Delta Debutante Ball

The Greenville Golf and Country Club was the setting for the 75th annual Delta Debutante Ball December 29. The Delta Debutante Club was founded in 1942. It is the oldest debutante club in Mississippi.

Several of the young people presented during the 2017 ball were the third generation of their families to take part in these festivities.

Several Northsiders were presented and participated in the season.

They include:

Millie Rives Alexander, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Heard Alexander Jr., granddaughter of Mrs. Gerald Alton Leroy of Franklin, Tenn., the late Mr. McCroy and the late Mrs. Blackwell McCroy; and Mrs. Robert Heard Alexander of Keswick, Va., and the late Mr. Alexander. Miss Alexander was presented by the father and escorted by Christian Andrew Eaves.

Madelyn Abide Harris is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Robert Love Harris. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Albert Kalil Abide of Madison and the late Dr. Abide; and Mrs. Glen Harris of Tupelo, and the late Mr. Harris. Miss Harris was presented by her father and escorted by  Robert Connor Harris and Jason Graham Eklund.

Martha Love Langford, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Nelson Langford, granddaughter of Mrs. William Elmo Bradley of Greenville and the late Mr. Bradley; and the late Dr. and Mrs. Herbert Gaines Langford of Jackson. Miss Langford was presented by her father. She was escorted by William Bradley Langford and Richard Wilson Montjoy III.

 

Virginia French Virden is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Brittain Virden of Greenville, and granddaughter of Mrs. William Edward French of Ridgeland and the late Mr. French; and the late Mr. and Mrs. Matthew Lowber Virden of Greenville. Miss Virden was presented by her father and escorted by  Robert Brittain Virden Jr.

Megan Grantham Weiss is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Edward Pizzetta III of Madison,  and the late Mr. John Gerald Weiss of Greenville. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Donald Pylate of Lake Village, Ark.; and the late Sally McNulty Weiss and the late Seymour Weiss II of Greenville. She was presented by her father and her grandfather and escorted by Hudson Alexander Wells of Sheridan, Ark.

Linden Alyse Dinkins is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Claude Cameron Dinkins IV of Glen Allan, and granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Randolph Belew of Jackson, and Mr. John Calhoun Bridges Jr. of Glen Allan, and the late Mrs. Bridges.

Mary Alexandra Hewitt is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Lloyd Hewitt of Oxford and granddaughter of Mrs. Frank Russell Waltman of Houston, Texas; John Hoyt Williams of Jackson, and Mrs. William Clifton Hewitt of McComb and the late Mr. Hewitt.

Rosemary West McClintock is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Leverett McClintock. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde McGee III of Greenville; and Mrs. George Thomas McClintock of Jackson and the late Mr. McClintock.

Wilkerson Banks Dinkins is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Claude Cameron Dinkins IV of Glen Allan and grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Randolph Belew of Jackson, and John Calhoun Bridges of Glen Allan, and the late Mrs. Bridges.
