It’s that time of year when high school seniors don caps and gowns, receive their high school diplomas and mark the occasion with photos and videos with family and friends.
The 2022 ceremonies kick off with Jackson Prep’s graduation in the middle of May and continue through the end of the month when Murrah High School hosts its event.
The Jackson Prep Class of 2022, which has 154 members, will graduate on May 15 at 7:30 p.m. at Trustmark Park.
Jeffrey Jordan is the valedictorian and Rose Hsieh is the salutatorian.
Graduation for the 116 members of the Class of 2022 at Jackson Academy is scheduled on May 19 at 7 p.m. in The Brickyard, the outdoor stadium at the school. JA held graduation at The Brickyard for the first time in 2020 as a precaution during the onset of the pandemic and it was well received and has since become a tradition.
Sandon Guild is the valedictorian and Regan Felder is the salutatorian for JA’s Class of 2022.
Seniors at Madison-Ridgeland Academy will graduate on May 20 at 7 p.m. at Broadmoor Baptist Church in Madison. There are 94 students in the 2022 graduating class. The valedictorian and salutatorian were to be named during the Senior Class Awards Day on May 9.
The Mississippi Coliseum in downtown Jackson will be the site of graduations for Madison Central High School, Ridgeland High School and Germantown High School on May 21. Madison Central has 356 seniors set to receive their diplomas at 9 a.m. at the Coliseum and Ridgeland High School has 188 seniors set to receive theirs at 2 p.m. at the Coliseum. About 268 Germantown High School seniors will graduate at 6 p.m. at the Coliseum.
Seniors at St. Joseph Catholic School will gather for a Baccalaureate Mass and awards ceremony at the school on May 24 from 6-7:30 p.m. and then rehearse for graduation on May 25 from 10-11:30 a.m. The St. Joseph Catholic School football field in Madison will be the site of the graduation ceremony on May 25 at 7:30 p.m.
St. Andrew’s Episcopal School’s Upper School Commencement honoring the Class of 2022 will take place by Lake Sherwood Wise on the north campus in Ridgeland on May 27 at 9 a.m. There are 60 members of the graduating class.
A Baccalaureate is scheduled on May 26 at 6 p.m. at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Cathedral in downtown Jackson.
The highest awards given to members of a graduating class at St. Andrew’s include the Trustees’ Medal for Academic Achievement, the Adele Franks Medal and the Saints’ Medal for Unselfish Service. Therecipients will be recognized at Upper School Honors Day on May 13.
Graduation for Murrah High School is scheduled on May 31 at 1 p.m. at the Coliseum. The Class of 2022 has about 300 seniors.
