Sullivan Elise Miller, 23, died suddenly, April 9, at Baptist Hospital in Pensacola. She was the beloved daughter of Dennis Maurer Miller Jr. of Pensacola, formerly of Jackson, and Eason Veazey Iburg and stepfather Matt Iburg of Madison. She was christened at St. Richard’s Catholic Church and baptized as a teen at Christ United Methodist Church where she was confirmed and became a member.
Sullivan was a scholar athlete and loved music and art. Playing soccer from age six, she was on the varsity team through high school at Washington High School in Pensacola. She won two governors awards for her academics, and many art awards in junior high and high school, and always in the chorus throughout school. Receiving an academic scholarship, she attended college at University of West Florida, Pensacola.
Loving to travel with her dog Yasha, she found beauty and solace in music and her art. Sullivan’s life was lived to the fullest with dreams and plans and places to go that were unfortunately stopped short. Her wonderful gift of love she shared with family and friends in life have now been shared with four blessed organ recipients. She was always there for those in need.
In addition to her parents she leaves her brother, Matthew Iburg; grandparents, Mrs. Ronald Veazey, Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Miller, all of Madison, and Frances M. Miller of Pensacola; aunts and uncles, Ginger V. and Mike Tramel of Jackson, Michelle and Ron Veazey, Michael Roberson of Madison, Dorothy Miller and Katie Osbourne of New Orleans; and cousins, Veazey, Robert, Mary Garner, Day, Will, Jake, of Jackson and Madison and Isabella and Hunter of New Orleans.
She was proceeded in death by her grandfather Ronald Veazey Sr. on March 3, 2021.
A memorial service will be held in the columbarium garden at Christ United Methodist church, May 23, at 1 p.m.
A NICU room at The Children’s of Mississippi, has been named for Sullivan by her grandparents. Other gifts given in her memory will go to a perpetual fund for special purposes at Children’s of Mississippi, developmental accounting 2500 N. State St, Jackson, MS, 39216.
