The city of Ridgeland has a contract on the building that once housed City Hall.
“We have a contract now,” said Ridgeland Mayor Gene McGee, referring to the building located at U.S. 51 and Lake Harbour Drive.
“The developer is doing due diligence. We believe they’ll have that done by the end of the year. We think we’ll get a fair price.”
The extension of Lake Harbour Drive from U.S. 51 to Highland Colony Parkway provides even more access to the area where the former City Hall is located and that’s made the property even more attractive, he said.
The building housed City Hall from 1987 until the new one was constructed at U.S. 51 and School Street. The city moved into the new building earlier this year.
The building that formerly housed City Hall once held a blueprint company and was retrofitted to meet the city’s needs when it moved there.
