Mr. and Mrs Thomas Bruce Alexander of Brookhaven, Ga, formerly of Ridgeland, announce the engagement of their daughter, Katherine Anita Alexander to Nathaniel Brown Smith, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Gentry Smith Jr. of Nashville.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Marguerite Dulin Alexander of Kingwood, Texas and the late Alfred Bruce Alexander, and Laverne Moore Goforth of Atlanta, and the late Wilfred Therrell Goforth.
The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Paul Gentry Smith Sr. of Memphis, and Ann Anderson Brown of Greenbriar, Tenn. and the late Richard Eugene Brown.
Miss Alexander is a 2010 graduate of Jackson Academy. In 2014 Miss Alexander earned a bachelor ‘s degree in elementary education and in 2015 a master’s degree in education, both from the University of Mississippi. While at Ole Miss she was a member of Kappa Delta sorority and was presented by The Debutante Club of Mississippi in 2011. Miss Alexander is currently an elementary school teacher in Nashville.
Smith is a 2010 graduate of Montgomery Bell Academy in Nashville. He attended the University of Tennessee and was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. Smith is a logistics manager with P&S Logistics in Nashville.
The couple will exchange vows on November 20 at Historic Cedarwood in Nashville with dinner and dancing to follow.
