Due to the recent loss in water pressure, the City of Jackson Water/Sewer Utilities Division has issued a precautionary boil water advisory until further notice for the following area:

Renaissance to feature new show fountain, theater and Costco

The second and third phases of Renaissance are on track to be finished next year, complete with another show fountain and Malco theater.

The city of Ridgeland director of community development Alan Hart said, based on reports from the developer, that phase two of Renaissance should be open by summer or fall of 2019.

Improvements

Christy Campbell, marketing and business development manager for Northpark Mall, was the guest speaker at a recent meeting of the Madison-Ridgeland Rotary Club. Campbell and colleague Seth Reeks, marketing coordinator for the mall, discussed improvements and renovations underway at the 34-year-old retail center.


Arthur Warren Scott

Arthur Warren Scott was recently graduated during the 129th commencement exercises at Woodberry Forest School in Madison County, Virginia. He will attend Southern Methodist University. Scott is the son of Mr. and Mrs. David A. Scott of Jackson.


The secret garden

Garden Club of Jackson member and rose expert, Miriam Ethridge, has selected several of her favorite antique roses for purchase in The Secret Garden gift shop.  Miriam will be on hand to offer tips on these hardier varieties.  The Secret Garden is part of the club’s fund-raiser, scheduled April 20-21, will also offer garden tools, original artw


MTA award

The Mississippi Civil Rights Museum and Museum of Mississippi History received the Mississippi Travel Attraction of the Year Award during the 2018 Governor’s Conference on Tourism in Oxford. The annual conference, organized by the Mississippi Tourism Association (MTA), presents awards for tourism achievement.


Scholarship presentation

Madison Ridgeland Academy fifth-grader Isabella Bentley received the Leigh Ann Ward Scholarship, one of the highest honors in the elementary this year. Dr. and Mrs. Ward established an Endowment Fund in memory of their daughter, Leigh Anne, who taught at MRA for 12 years.
