Just one small act of kindness could turn a person’s day around. Nathan Dunaway, founder of the Do a Jack Attack group, is encouraging people to do small acts of kindness for others each day.
Former Jackson City Councilman and current Judge Jeff Weill is a candidate for the Mississippi Court of Appeals – 4th district. Judge Weill currently serves as a circuit court judge for Hinds County and was an assistant district attorney and criminal investigator for former district attorney Dunn Lampton.
The celebration and blessing of the marriage of Virginia Nell Parsons and Paul Jarlath Hughes was held at 5 p.m. on October 6 at Cheekwood Estate and Gardens in Nashville.

Costco construction traffic isn’t to blame for the recent potholes that have cropped up along a recently repaved section of Highland Colony Parkway in Ridgeland.
Rather, the asphalt has broken down in several places because of weaknesses in the road bed itself, according to Mayor Gene McGee.

The city of Ridgeland’s weekly farmers’ market, True Local Market, has been extended into the new year.
True Local Market began in October and was expected to run through the end of December 2018. However, due to the success of the market, it will continue.
CONSTRUCTION HAS STARTED on a new middle school for Madison-Ridgeland Academy (MRA). The facility should be ready by the 2018-2019 school term, however this fall, students will be greeted with additional parking and less traffic congestion.
The Madison County board of supervisors is considering moving forward with the Reunion interchange, phase 2.
The Reunion interchange would serve as another access to I-55 for north Madison and Gluckstadt residents, and it would connect Bozeman Road to Parkway East.
Location cited as factor in low attendance at Jackson Zoo
For the Jackson Zoo, it’s all about location, location, location.
The zoo has been hemorrhaging visitors for years, and local and out-of-towners alike cite the park’s surroundings as a major reason why.

Gas stations are few and far between on the west side of the interstate in south Madison County.
The only gas station in the area is on the corner of Mississippi Highway 463 and Highland Colony Parkway.
A master plan for the Capitol Complex Improvement District (CCID) should be in place by mid-March.
Just months after the firms were brought on, Waggoner Engineering/AJA Consultants and Cooke Douglass Farr Lemons are expected to wrap up work on the plan by the spring.
Highland colony Parkway is in the middle of major improvements.
The parkway is currently undergoing an overlay project from Old Agency Road to West County Line Road.
Now, the county wants to add additional subterranean pavement to a northbound lane to accommodate heavy truck loads.
Casey Creasey was recently named executive director of the Greater Belhaven Foundation (GBF). Creasey holds degrees from the University of Mississippi and the University of Mississippi School of Law. She takes over as director after serving in the position in an interim capacity.
