Construction ‘full-tilt boogie’ on Costco project alderman says

Work on the Ridgeland Costco finally appears to be moving forward, thanks to several weeks of dry weather.

“They’ve been going full-tilt boogie to get the gas station opened by January and the store opened by March 1,” said Ward One Alderman Ken Heard. “They’ve been going strong since it got dried out.”






Judge, sheriff issue statement in Madison County consent decree

On October 9, Judge Carlton Reeves entered an Order approving the Consent Decree in Brown v. Madison County, a lawsuit brought by the law firm Simpson, Thacher & Bartlett, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of Mississippi and the ACLU, which alleged racially motivated policing by the Madison County Sheriff’s Department.

Quiz Bowl

The Germantown High School Quiz Bowl team competed in the Spring Academic Invitational Tournament and won second place.  They played through five preliminary rounds before advancing to the semifinals and then to the finals.

Jackson Academy senior, was recognized as a semifinalist in the 2019 National Merit Scholarship Program. Clement will continue in competition to be a finalist for Merit Scholarship awards that will be offered next spring.




May Day

St. Andrew’s Episcopal lower school presents May Day 2018: Milestones. The Lower School will celebrate the school’s 70th anniversary with dances representative of the last seven decades, culminating with the traditional wrapping of the maypole by the fourth-grade May 11 at 6 p.m. on the school’s Fondren campus.
