He was a member of the Jackson Academy chess club during his high school years. He doesn’t consider himself much of a comic book fan, except for the X-Men. He likes to spend his Sunday mornings out by the lake bird watching. He is an avid tennis player. He has worked at Great Scott in every capacity, from bookkeeping to cleaning.

Paul Harris Fellows

Two members of the Rotary Club of North Jackson, Sara White and Jay Cooke, were recently awarded Paul Harris Fellows. The Paul Harris Fellow recognition acknowledges individuals who contribute, or who have contributions made in their name, of $1,000 to The Rotary Foundation.


Band clinic

St. Andrew’s Episcopal School students recently participated in the East Mississippi Band Director’s Association Region Band Clinic, held at Ridgeland High School. The students were nominated by band directors Dennis Cranford and Katelyn Kyser.


Eagle Scouts

At a recent Troop 1 Eagle Court of Honor the following Scouts were awarded the Rank of Eagle (from left) Will Fletcher, Dixon Hughes, Noah Berry, Grant Hughes, Clayton Mahaffey, Gibson Cheney. Troop 1, chartered in 1916, is beginning its 103rd year of scouts.


Donate to Hope House

Century Cub Charities recently presented Hope House of Hospitality with a check for $5,000 from proceeds of the Sanderson Farms Championship.  For 33 years, Hope House has served the needs of cancer patients who come to Jackson for treatments, providing these guests with a place to stay, meals, and transportation to treatments.  Shown are (from
