A conversation with Suzannah Britt on Hospice Ministries

Hospice Ministries of Central Mississ-ippi celebrates its 30th anniversary this year. Suzannah Britt, the group’s executive director, has worked in various roles with the nonprofit, and recently reflected on the group in an interview with the Sun. Britt is a graduate of Co-Lin Community College and the University of Southern Mississi-ppi.

Lane Spell Rosson

Lane Spell Rosson, 74, passed away peacefully Wednesday, September 11, 2019, at home in Ridgeland, MS, surrounded by friends and family including her son, Bert Rosson Jr., her sister, Suzanne Case of McComb and niece Rebecca Case Lawler of New Orleans.

Bramlett on role as district attorney

John K. Bramlett Jr. was recently appointed by Gov. Phil Bryant as District Attorney for the 20th Circuit Court District, which includes Madison and Rankin counties. He replaces Michael Guest, who was elected to the U.S. Congress. Bramlett has served as an assistant district attorney in the 20th Circuit Court District since 2015.







Renaissance construction

Construction is on track for the second and third phases of Renaissance, complete with a show fountain and Malco theater.

Phase two of Renaissance is projected to be complete sometime this summer or early fall.

The Costco portion of phase three and four should be complete by next summer.



Dorlisa Hutton on SR1 and purpose

Dorlisa Hutton, a Jackson native, serves as the chief operations officer for SR1. Hutton earned her undergraduate degree in healthcare administration at Jackson State University. She earned her master’s degree in public health from Jackson State and a master’s in biomedical science from the University of Mississippi.

JA student killed in car crash, one day before she was to graduate

A vigil will be held tonight for the Jackson Academy (JA) student killed in a car crash today.

Frances Anne Fortner was driving along Ridgewood Road around 1:30 p.m., when she hit a manhole cover and her car flipped, according to Precinct Four Cmdr. Keith Freeman.

The vigil will be at 7 p.m., on the school's campus.

Renaissance to feature new show fountain, theater and Costco

The second and third phases of Renaissance are on track to be finished next year, complete with another show fountain and Malco theater.

The city of Ridgeland director of community development Alan Hart said, based on reports from the developer, that phase two of Renaissance should be open by summer or fall of 2019.
