Dr. and Mrs. Don Timothy Cannon announce the engagement of their daughter Clara Frances Cannon to William Cooper Simmons, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Delmar Simmons.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. Donavon Bruce Cannon and the late Mr. Cannon of Philadelphia, and Mrs. Charles Edward Nestor Sr. and the late Reverend Dr. Nestor of Bruce.
Miss Cannon is a lifelong member of The Cathedral of St. Andrew and attended St. Andrew’s Episcopal School. She was graduated from Jackson Academy in 2011. She attended the University of Mississippi where she received a bachelor’s degree in hospitality management in 2016. At Ole Miss, she was a member of Chi Omega Fraternity. Miss Cannon was presented by the Debutante Club of Mississippi in 2012.
Currently she is manager at The Linen Shop in Gluckstadt. Previously she was associated with Merrill Lynch and later as a loan administrator at Truxton Trust in Nashville.
The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of Mrs. Delmar Leon Simmons Jr. and the late Mr. Simmons of Jackson and Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Leon Lee of Oxford.
Simmons is a 2012 graduate of Jackson Preparatory School. He was graduated from the University of Mississippi with a double major in managerial finance and banking and finance in 2016 and received his master’s of business administration in 2017. At Ole Miss he was a recipient of the John N. Palmer MBA assistanceship program and was a member of Sigma Nu fraternity. He is a member of Christ United Methodist Church.
Simmons is a technology trainer with Morgan White Group in Ridgeland. In Nashville, he was a team member with Bernard Health.
The couple will exchange vows April 10 at 6:30 p.m. with a reception to follow at the Country Club of Jackson.
They will make their home in Jackson.
