Entergy status report for entire service area: Damage assessment is now 55% complete and so far we have identified 124 poles, 782 spans of wire down and 28 transformers requiring repairs.
As of this report 37,642 customers are without power down from a peak of approximately 90,000. We have more than 2,200 workers engaged in the restoration effort and requesting more. Restoration work is proceeding as safely as possible, but our crews are still facing challenges associated with dangerous driving conditions this morning, which is slowing down travel to damaged areas. Damage assessment statewide is 55 percent assessed.
Cold weather outage restoration can be hampered by a sudden demand from electric heaters and large appliances when power comes on. So, if you should lose power, please turn off or unplug these appliances until power is restored. You may want to leave a lamp turned on to indicate when power is restored.
