St. Andrew’s Upper School Theatre Department’s fall play will be the mystery A Murder is Announced based on the novel by Agatha Christie and adapted by playwright Leslie Darbon. A mysterious announcement in the local paper states the time and place when a murder is to occur. The victim is an unexpected and unknown visitor. What follows is a classic Agatha Christie puzzle of mixed motives, concealed identities, a second death, a determined Inspector grimly following the twists and turns, and Miss Marple on hand to provide the final solution just before the final curtain. The play will be presented November 14, 15, and 16 at 7:00 each evening in the Center for Performing Arts on the school’s Ridgeland campus. Student tickets are $5 and adult tickets are $10 and will be on sale at the theatre box office before each performance. This production is appropriate for all ages. Cast members are (back row, from left) Hunter Newell, Maya Adams, Iain Brumley, Isabella Brumley, Charlie Corkern; (front row) Julienne Sones, Jory Tanaka, Cate Purvis, Avery Stallings, Chayse Townsend, and Lucy McCain.
