Mary Elizabeth Clayton and Jonathan Wilson Becker exchanged vows on January 4 at Pinehaven Presbyterian Church in Clinton. The Reverend Cory Brock officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Michael and Karen Clayton from Princeton, Ky., and the granddaughter of Lynn and Kathleen Hayes of Cookeville, Tenn., and the late Raymond and Katherine Clayton of Providence, Ky. The bridegroom is the son of Jeffrey and Stephanie Becker, and the grandson of George and Linda Rozina, all of Jackson, and the late Howard Becker and Gloria Fusco of Silver Spring, Md.
Escorted by her father the bride wore a designer gown.
Serving as matrons of honor was her sister Anna McCarron and her college roommate Kristin Hines. Bridesmaids were Cassie Tisdell, the bride’s sister; Katie Vandervelde and Caroline Becker, the bridegroom’s sisters; and Holly Mitchell, Catherine Waggoner, Lauren Bowers and Courtland Stephens. The bride's sister, Katie Shirley, was an honorary bridesmaid. The matrons of honor wore wine georgette gowns while the bridesmaids wore quartz colored gowns.
The bridegroom's father was best man along with Antonio Mazuecos. Groomsmen were his brothers, Corey Becker, Jordan Becker and Christian Becker, all brothers; and Peter Hall, Christopher Thuler,William Lawrimore and Chaz Guerra. Ushers were the bridegroom’s cousin Payton Becker, Josh Hollingsworth and Harrison Matheny.
The flower girl was a cousin of the bridegroom, Hattie Woods, cousin of the bridegroom. Ringbearers were Benaiah and Berek Clayton, nephews of the bride; and Erza Becker, the bridegroom’s nephew.
Nuptial music was presented by Rebekah Miller, celloist; and Bailey Bradshaw, soloist.
Decorations were created by the bride and her father, mother, sisters, and bridesmaids. All the flowers, which included spray roses, quicksand roses, dusty miller, seeded eucalyptus, dahlias, and snowflake white daisies, were arrangement by the bride’s mother. She also made both the bride's cake and the bridegroom's cake.
Following the ceremony, the couple were honored with a reception held at Sterling Hall in Canton. Again the bridal party and the bride's parents decorated. The festivities included dinner speeches, dancing, and a sparkler send-off for the newlyweds. The bride's brother, Benjamin Clayton, blessed the dinner and prayed over the newlyweds at the reception. The bride and bridegroom's sweetheart table was built by the bridegroom.
After a wedding trip in the Carribean, the couple is at home in Jackson.
