The wedding ceremony celebrating the marriage of Lauren Elizabeth Friedrich and Noah Christian Black was held at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Nashville on June 20 at 6:30 in the evening.
The bride is the daughter of Dr. Christopher Andrew Friedrich and Dr. Jennifer Clare Shores of Madison. Grandparents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. Charles Adam Friedrich of Cinnaminson, N.J., the late Elizabeth Thomas Shores of Yazoo City and the late Raymond Hamilton Shores of Yazoo City.
The bride is a graduate of St. Andrew’s Episcopal School and Vanderbilt University, where she majored in medicine, health, and society.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Philip Black of Dublin, Ohio. His grandparents are the late Mrs. And Mrs. Kenneth Joseph Black of Rochester, Pa. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lee Ullom of Huntington, W.V.
The bridegroom is a graduate of Dublin Jerome High School and Vanderbilt University, where he majored in economics and mathematics.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents. She wore a custom designer lace ballgown style dress with textural beading and floral blooms throughout the silhouette for a multidimensional look. The bodice, with a sweetheart neckline, featured off-the-shoulder straps and was covered in layered French lace. A train with bold detailing completed the look.
She wore a cathedral length veil accented by seed pearls. She wore a pearl bracelet that belonged to her mother and her great grandmother’s engagement ring. She carried a bouquet of white peonies, garden roses, ranunculus, and white lily of the valley accented with pale blush garden roses and bound by ivory ribbon.
Anne Peyton Baker was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Elizabeth Jean Curvino, Courtney Ann Foulk, Kirsten Clark Fowler, Erin Elizabeth Morrow, Flora Ferrell Neuhoff, Mary Caroline Speetjens and Margaret MacIntyre Taylor. Honorary attendants were Katherine Cole Hamlin and Carmen Jean Ritter.
Best man was Ian Gabriel Black, the bridegroom's brother. Groomsmen were Jackson Robert Davis, William Richard Huesken, James Thomas Kuchler, Luke Granville Price, Timothy Calhoun Rice, Jackson Peace Stacy and Grayson Rice Wiles. Honorary groomsman was Christopher Andrew Friedrich Jr., the bride’s brother.
The Reverend Richie Sessions officiated the ceremony. Scripture readings were presented by Emily Rebecca Howell and Kyle Todd Langford. Music was performed on the organ by Elizabeth Smith. Emma Caroline Spears sang “O God Beyond All Praising.”
A reception was held following the ceremony at Ruby. The couple shared a toast and greeted guests before a dinner that included Jerusalem chicken, rice pilaf, and wrapped green beans. Dessert was strawberry wedding cake with cream cheese icing and mixed berries.
The couple began the evening of dancing with “I Like to Be With Me When I’m With You” by Drew Holcomb & The Neighbors. The bride and her father danced to “Daughter” by Loudon Wainwright III, and the bridegroom and his mother danced to “Never Alone” by Jim Brickman and Lady A.
On the eve of the wedding, the bridegroom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at the Vanderbilt Legends Club in Franklin. The bridal luncheon was held at Belle Meade Country Club and was given by Mary Taylor, Elizabeth Baker, Flora Neuhoff, and Abigail Curvino.
After a wedding trip to Rosemary Beach the newlyweds are at home in Dallas where the bridegroom is a financial analyst, and the bride is in medical school at the University of Texas Southwestern.
