Dr. and Mrs. Timothy Philip Kerut of Vicksburg announce the engagement of their daughter, Sarah Elizabeth Kerut to Willie Fowler Joiner Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Willie Fowler Joiner of Lexington, Ala.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Bettie Weathersby and the late George Weathersby of Pelahatchie and Mr. and Mrs. Edmund Kerut of Clinton.
The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Peppers of Lawrenceburg, Tenn., and Marion Joiner Yarber and the late David Joiner of Five Points, Tenn.
Dr. Kerut is a 2007 graduate of Vicksburg Catholic School and was graduated summa cum laude from Mississippi State University in 2011 with a bachelor’s degree. She received a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in 2015 and completed a residency in internal medicine in 2018 at UMMC. She then served as a chief resident for the department of medicine.
Dr. Joiner is a 2009 graduate of Lexington High School and was graduated magna cum laude from Samford University in 2013 with a bachelor’s degree. He received a Doctor of Medicine from University of Alabama in Birmingham in 2017. He is currently a third-year resident in internal medicine at the University of Mississippi Medical Center.
The couple plan to exchange vows June 13 at First Presbyterian Church of Jackson followed by a reception at Fairview Inn.
After the wedding they will reside in Jackson where the bride will complete an endocrinology fellowship and the bridegroom will be an internal medicine chief resident.
