Mr. and Mrs. Dan Nae of Leonard, Mich., announce the engagement of their daughter, Ana-Maria, to Andrew Joseph Benefield, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lance Joseph Benefield of Jackson.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Constantin and Maria Totorcea and the late Nicholas and Elena Nae of Romania.
The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of Barbara Baker Gentry and Leo Gentry of Damascus, Ore., Judge (Retired) and Mrs. Andrew C. Baker of Charleston, Miss. and the late Daniel and Rosemary Benefield of Jackson.
Dr. Nae is a 2010 graduate of Troy High School in Troy, Mich, and was graduated from the University of Michigan in 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in neuroscience and Spanish. She received a Doctor of Medicine from Wake Forest School of Medicine in 2018. She is currently completing a residency in family medicine at Atrium Health in Charlotte.
Dr. Benefield is a 2008 graduate of Jackson Academy and was graduated from the University of Mississippi in 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in biology. He received a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in 2016. He completed a residency in internal medicine at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in 2019 and is currently in his second year of a hematology/oncology fellowship at Wake Forest.
The couple will be married July 11 in Asheville.
