Miss Rigsby and Hawkins to exchange wedding vows February 29 in New Orleans
Terri Pamela Parker of Baltimore and Dr. Reginald David Rigsby of Madison announce the engagement of their daughter, Erin Brooke Rigsby, to Dr. Devin Charles Hawkins, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Murley Hawkins Jr. of New Orleans.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. John David Rigsby and the late Dr. Rigsby of Jackson, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Theodore Parker of Baltimore.
The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of Bobbie Jean Causey, Lucy Tolliver Bates and the late James Murley Hawkins Sr., all of New Orleans.
Miss Rigsby attended St. Andrew’s Episcopal School and is a 2008 graduate of Institute of Notre Dame High School in Baltimore. She is a 2012 summa cum laude graduate of Howard University in Washington, D.C. with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. At Howard, she was a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, College of Arts and Sciences Student Council president and an elected member of the Howard University Board of Trustees. In 2016, she received both her Juris Doctorate and master of business administration degrees from Tulane University.
She is an active member of the New Orleans Chapter of the Links, Inc. and is an attorney with Chehardy, Sherman and Williams in New Orleans.
Dr. Hawkins is a 2008 graduate of Edna Karr High School in New Orleans. He attended Howard University where he was active with the Howard University Campus Pals Student Orientation Group and Pre-Pharmacy Society until his acceptance and matriculation at Xavier University of Louisiana from which he received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 2016. He is currently a retail pharmacy manager for CVS Pharmacy in New Orleans.
The couple will exchange vows at Christ Episcopal Church Cathedral in New Orleans. Following the ceremony, a reception will be held at the Jung Hotel in New Orleans.
