On September 1, Jackson city officials are planning to shut the water off to about 35 businesses along I-55 to repair a main break near the Life Storage facility there.
The water outage will be from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., September 1, so the repairs can be made, according to a press release.
The outage will affect about 35 connections between the 4,600 and 5,500 blocks of the south-bound frontage road.
Meanwhile, the area is under a temporary boil water notice, after pressure there was lost Friday.
That afternoon, a valve cover popped off of the pipe, causing water to gush out of the line.
The boil water alert was issued because of the loss of water pressure.
It is a precautionary notice, and residents and businesses in the area are being urged to boil water for at least one minute before using it to cook, brush their teeth or drink.
