Repairs are underway to Jackson Street, which is an MDOT-owned highway stretching from Highway 51 to I-55.
Ridgeland Public Works Director Mike McCollum said the project was halted for a short time due to work on Colony Park Boulevard.
He said the work on Colony Park Boulevard and Jackson Street is part of the same project with the same contractor.
“They ran into some areas there that they had to focus on, so they had to leave Jackson Street,” McCollum said.
On Friday, McCollum said the crew was in the process of milling the west bound lane.
He expects the work on Jackson Street to be completed by mid-November. The entire project should be done by November 25.
“Traffic may be slowed a little, but two lanes will remain open during construction,” McCollum said.
Once both lanes on Jackson Street are completed, MDOT will deed it over to the city for maintenance, according to McCollum.
