Madison County residents will see a new business, a new neighborhood and two Bridgewater Villas soon.
At the October 5 meeting the Madison County board of supervisors voted yes on approving four new developments. Scott Weeks presented the board with a site plan amendment to the Dees office building on the corner of Dees Plaza and Dees Drive. Also, Weeks presented the preliminary plat for a new residential development of 85 lots on Yandell Road.
Yandell Road development has been a point of contention between the developers and citizens concerned about the surrounding environment, specifically wetlands and the bear creek drainage system.
Both developments were approved by the board.
Tim Bryan, the county engineer, presented two plats for two new Bridgewater developments to the board. These villa plats are entering phases two and three and both proposals for continued development were approved by the board.
Bryan says he has no way of knowing when those houses will be completed.
“It could be finished anywhere between the next six months or the next ten years. What these final plats do is allow the developers to start building houses here.”
