On behalf of the Diabetes Foundation of Mississippi and the families that we serve, a heartfelt thanks for your continued support and generosity. As you know, every dollar raised by the Foundation stays in the state to help children and adults with diabetes.
During the past few months, we’ve worked hard to create and post crucial lifesaving information on staying safe and healthy during the pandemic. Our patient-assistance requests have soared, and we anticipate that they will continue to rise. Your generosity allows us to continue lending a helping hand to Mississippi children and adults in need.
Your giving spirit has also helped us provide every family of a newly diagnosed child with a We Care 2 backpack brimming with information for parents and kids, school forms, testing supplies for high or low blood glucose, treats for lows, our cuddly toy yellow Lab “Sugar” and other happies. And because some children are returning to the classroom, we’ve created information for school nurses on keeping them safe, sent our “Diabetes to Go!” emergency boxes to schools across the state and provided educational resources to families that opt for virtual or hybrid learning.
As we acclimate to a new normal of learning and doing things in a different way, we continue reaching out to our Mississippi families. More people than ever need the help and hope that the Diabetes Foundation of Mississippi can provide through our lifesaving programs and services. Because of you, we are able to transform lives and help make the future brighter for ALL Mississippians living with diabetes.
