Newsworthy - Regions Bank

By ROBERT LEARD,

It may be someone you’ve never met.

It may be your neighbor next door.

It could be a family across town.

Or the family across the street.

Every day, countless people are touched by United Way of the Capital Area. And services provided by United Way range far beyond what most people realize.

It’s a family receiving food so they will not go hungry. It’s a mother and children receiving shelter from domestic violence. It’s a child who has been able to receive life-saving medicine thanks to prescription drug assistance. It’s at-risk youth connecting with mentors. It’s homebound seniors receiving nutritious meals.

The list goes on.

Through a strong passion for the community, United Way is making a difference in the lives of those who call our area home. I support the mission of the United Way because I believe the future of Jackson and Mississippi rests heavily upon our ability to improve educational outcomes that lead to a better prepared and more economically viable workforce. The United Way supports childhood success, youth success and economic mobility for our citizens.

Through these priorities, we see the expertise of United Way staff. We have witnessed the dedication of nonprofits funded by United Way. We have learned how extensive the United Way network is – with more than 12 partner agencies serving people across Hinds, Madison and Rankin counties.

Every year, Regions Bank joins United Way to help those in need. It is a chance to put our passion into action by being part of the momentum that is strengthening our community. United Way’s annual campaign is an opportunity to give, advocate and volunteer to improve education, health and financial security for our neighbors.

Through United Way’s annual campaign, businesses and individuals make contributions that, in turn, make an impact on others. We are proud to be one the largest contributors among local financial institutions in the Jackson area.

At Regions Bank, our mission is to make life better in our communities. Our support for United Way is a natural extension of that mission. It’s one way we are working to foster more inclusive prosperity across the communities we serve. And we invite other businesses and individuals to join us.

United Way is a trusted community leader – one with clear financial accountability and a solid track record of turning contributions into action.

Consider how you can participate. More information is at https://www.myunitedway.com/, where you can see the impact of this organization.

We are all connected to United Way, whether we realize it or not.

United, we address issues affecting our communities.

United, we give people hope.

United, we make a difference.

United, we will succeed.
