St. Andrew's Episcopal School released this information on May 11, which includes end-of-the-year activities for younger students, as well as a new commencement date for graduates.
What: To mark the end of the 2019-20 school year, St. Andrew’s Episcopal School is planning a final celebration and opportunities for students in each division to see their teachers. The Lower School and Middle School will each hold a “Wave Bye” parade so that families may drive through campus, wave, and bid farewell to their teachers. Additionally, there will be a senior celebration for the Class of 2020 scheduled on the original date of graduation. The theme is how we took lemons and made lemonade! Baccalaureate and graduation have been rescheduled for August 1.
Who: Students in their divisions, along with their families, are invited to attend. Faculty and administration will also be present, observing social distancing protocols. Students and their families will remain in their vehicles.
Where: The Lower School “Wave Bye” parade will take place on the school’s South Campus with families driving around the campus, located at 4120 Old Canton Road in Jackson. The Middle School “Wave Bye” parade and the senior celebration will take place on the school’s North Campus near the school’s flagpole, located at 370 Old Agency Road in Ridgeland.
When: The Lower School parade is scheduled for May 15, from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm. The Middle School parade is scheduled for May 19, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. The Class of 2020 senior celebration will take place on May 22 at 6:00 pm.
Media and Photo Opp: Students, faculty, and administration will be available to speak with the media, while following social distance practices.
