Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Stickney Farrington III of Jackson announce the engagement of their daughter, Sally Sebree Farrington to Patrick Douglas Thompson of Alexandria, Va., the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Abner Thompson III of Hamilton, N.J.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Claude Lafayette Whitener of Hayti, Mo. and Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Stickney Farrington Jr. of Jackson. The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of Mrs. Frederick Abner Thompson Jr. and the late Mr. Thompson of Hamilton and the late Else Krupski of Oberleinach, Germany.
Miss Farrington is a 2011 honor graduate of Jackson Preparatory School. In 2015, she was graduated from the University of Mississippi, earning a bachelor’s degree in Spanish with an emphasis in linguistics and a minor in political science. At Ole Miss, she was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority. She was presented in 2012 by the Debutante Club of Mississippi. Miss Farrington is currently pursuing a Master of Applied Science in global health planning and management from Johns Hopkins University. She is a global health policy advisor in the United States Senate in Washington, D.C.
Thompson is a 2007 graduate of Notre Dame High School in Lawrenceville, N.J. He attended Duke University where in 2011 he earned a bachelor’s degree in public policy and a master’s in Christian studies in 2013. While at Duke, Thompson was a manager for the men’s basketball team and was a cadet in the Army ROTC program. He served as a captain in the United States Army Reserve. Thompson is a National Security Advisor in the United States Senate in Washington, D.C.
The couple will exchange vows during a family ceremony on February 26 at Inlet Beach, Fla. with a reception to follow in Rosemary. Afterwards they will make their home in Alexandria, Va.
