Mr. and Mrs. Hunter Lloyd Fordice of Vicksburg announce the engagement of their daughter, Emily Louise Fordice, to Thomas Bruce Payne III, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Bruce Payne Jr. of Madison. Coast baseball team owner submits bid to manage Smith-Wills Stadium

The co-owner of a Biloxi baseball team could soon be manager of Smith-Wills Stadium.

Only one firm submitted a proposal to manage the stadium, Kusche Sports Group.

The firm’s principal officer is Tim Bennett, the co-owner of the Biloxi Shuckers minor league baseball team and manager of MGM Park in Biloxi.

Gerard Gibert on Mississippi Lottery

He earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting with a minor in economics from the University of Mississippi. JA student killed in car crash, one day before she was to graduate

A vigil will be held tonight for the Jackson Academy (JA) student killed in a car crash today.

Frances Anne Fortner was driving along Ridgewood Road around 1:30 p.m., when she hit a manhole cover and her car flipped, according to Precinct Four Cmdr. Keith Freeman.

The vigil will be at 7 p.m., on the school's campus.

The simple prayer of a child for the patients of Batson Children’s Hospital brought about a $1.5 million gift from the Van Devender Family Foundation to expand pediatric care at the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC).
