Spillway Road Project

Work is slated to begin soon to improve traffic at the intersection of Spillway Road and Northshore Parkway/Old Fannin Road.

The long-term goal is to ease traffic at the busy intersection, which has approximately 30,000 vehicles using it daily.

Mayor secures financing for major North State project

Two years and numerous discussions later, the city of Jackson is finally moving forward on the North State Street and West County Line Road reconstruction projects.

And the projects will be moving forward more than a year ahead of schedule.

The county is looking to change their policy for homeowner associations that want to make positive traffic changes to their subdivisions, such as reducing speeding, adding speed bumps, or other deterrents of reckless driving.

New Costco construction scheduled to start in spring

Construction on the Ridgeland Costco could get under way in the spring, according to Ridgeland city officials.

“The developer plans to begin construction … in March and expects that Costco will be open before Christmas,” said Mayor Gene McGee.
