Leslie Evalyn Hodge, 51, of New Orleans passed away at home on August 16, 2019.  Born in Augusta, Georgia to Jo Dent and Elbert “Cliff” Hodge, Leslie grew up in Oxford, Mississippi.  After moving to Jackson, Mississippi, Leslie graduated from St.






Northside Drive repaving to begin

(JACKSON, Miss.) – Monday, Mayor Chokwe Antar Lumumba announced that repaving is expected to begin on Northside Drive between State Street and I-55/Frontage Road.  The $2.4 million project has been made possible through the 1% Sales Tax Commission and funding made available to the Mississippi Department of Transportation by the Federal Highway

Mock trial

St. Andrew’s Episcopal School’s 2018-19 Mock Trial team competed in the Jackson Regional Mock Trial Competition. The team won both rounds of the tournament in which they competed at the Mississippi College School of Law. In addition to the team success, there were several team members who won individual awards for their performances.

Grace Lynnley Miller

Grace Lynnley Miller, a recent homeschool graduate, was awarded a President’s Gold Scholarship from Baylor University in Waco. She will be enrolled at Baylor in their Honors College majoring in classical studies. She also received one of the two  Christian Home Educators Connection (CHEC) Matthew 5:16 Scholarships awarded yearly.

Determination

Shearer overcomes back injury to continue love of dance at Indiana University

What at one point seemed impossible for a young ballerina has now become a reality.

After suffering a back injury, Mary Kate Shearer is attending Indiana University Bloomington and is now part of the ballet program at the Jacobs School of Music.

Stan Buckley on But God Ministries

Stan Buckley is founder and director of But God Ministries in Ridgeland. The Madison resident started the group in 2011, around the time he stepped down as pastor of First Baptist Church of Jackson. He graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi and received his Juris Doctorate from the Mississippi College School of Law.
