Tournament inspires Sarah Broom to work with Chastain to improve the school’s tennis program.

Sarah Broom went to a tennis tournament at the River Hills Club hoping to take in some matches and watch future stars battle it out before they make it big in the Women’s Tennis Association. 


Life masters

Ann Hall, (left) Loretta Holmes (center) and Amanda Davis (right) were recently recognized by the Jackson Bridge Association for achieving the rank of Life Master, each having met the requirements of the American Contract Bridge League to become a Life Master bridge player.


Constitution Week

Mayor Mary Hawkins-Butler (seated) signed a Proclamation for the Annandale Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution stating September 17-23, is proclaimed as Constitution Week. New mixed-use development planned for Madison featuring businesses and housing

Work will soon be under way on a new mixed-use development in Madison, which is designed to have the feel of a historic downtown neighborhood.

The Village at Madison will be located off Main Street near the police department and will be home to the newest Half Shell Oyster House location.

Ridgeland’s farmers’ market slated to end in December extended because of success

The city of Ridgeland’s weekly farmers’ market, True Local Market, has been extended into the new year.

True Local Market began in October and was expected to run through the end of December 2018. However, due to the success of the market, it will continue.
