Oaks House Museum setting for annual Easter parade and egg hunt

The first annual Oaks House Museum Easter Parade and third annual Easter egg hunt was held recently.

The Oaks House Museum (circa 1853) is owned and operated by the NSCDA (National Society of Colonial Dames in the state of Mississippi). It is one of the very few buildings (pre-Civil War). that was not destroyed or burned.

Math tournament

St. Andrew’s Episcopal School competed in the annual Mu Alpha Theta Mathematics Tournament, hosted by the Mississippi School for Mathematics and Science (MSMS) education in Columbus. There were 32 schools and 490 students competing from across Mississippi. St. Andrew’s won first place overall for the second year in a row.



Alumni awards

St. Andrew’s Episcopal School recently celebrated the 2018-19 Alumni Awards, recognizing and honoring outstanding alumni. This year’s winners are Jack Allin, 1996 – St. Andrew’s Loyalty Award; and Ben Wynne ,1979 – Distinguished Alumnus of the Year.

Downtown Parking

The Jackson Police Department (JPD) has stepped up parking enforcement along East Capitol Street, meaning vehicles parked in the street’s center loading zone for extended periods of time could be subject to a ticket.
