Beemon Drugs closing

Beemon Drugs Owner Lester Hailey has announced that the iconic North Jackson drug store will be closing on June 25. 

A notice was posted at the Maywood Mart institution today. 

The store, which has been a staple on the Northside for years, is known for providing home delivery of medications to customers.

Michelle Owens, M.D., an OB-GYN, was recently named a Doctor of Distinction by the Mississippi State Medical Association. MSMA Doctors of Distinction are named after they complete the full course of the MSMA Physician Leadership Academy, which trains them to be leaders and advocates.

ja carnival

Jackson Academy’s annual fall carnival is scheduled Tuesday, October 16 on the school’s Raider field. This community-wide event features a bake sale with a rich history and wide array of home-baked goods; a costume contest with categories from “scariest” to “funniest”; a pumpkin decoration contest, jump houses and so much more.
