De’Keither, Bailey vie for Mississippi’s PSC central seat

The Stennis Press Institute last week featured the Republican and Democratic candidates for the central district Public Service Commissioner.

Brent Bailey is the Republican candidate. From Carthage originally, Bailey and his wife Rhonda live in Madison County. He received an engineering degree from Mississippi State.

Suzannah Britt, the group’s executive director, has worked in various roles with the nonprofit, and recently reflected on the group in an interview with the Sun. Britt is a graduate of Co-Lin Community College and the University of Southern Mississi-ppi.

Renaissance construction

Construction is on track for the second and third phases of Renaissance, complete with a show fountain and Malco theater.

Phase two of Renaissance is projected to be complete sometime this summer or early fall.

The Costco portion of phase three and four should be complete by next summer.

Airport land annexation hearing scheduled Jan. 24; two cities want property

The first scheduled hearing in the annexation case involving the Jackson-Medgar Wiley Evers International Airport is slated for January 24.

Two cities, Flowood and Pearl, are attempting to annex land surrounding Jackson-Evers, in what city of Jackson officials call a “tax grab.”



Phoenix Club board
