Michael Feild McGehee died peacefully and surrounded by family on January 23, 2022 in Dallas, TX. He was born in Winchester, VA on March 31st, 1958, grew up in Jackson, MS and graduated from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX with a B.S. in Political Science.
Michael was an avid sports fan. Perennially, he believed it was the Cowboys’ and Mustangs’ year. He traveled the world, visiting 110 countries, but always considered Dallas to be his home. He was known as one who “never met a stranger” and made friends wherever he went. He had a deep sense of humor, often eliciting groans from his children, and never shied away from a good Southern aphorism.
He is survived by his mother, Bettie Payne McGehee, his siblings, Mac McGehee and Caroline Allen, and his children, Michael, Elizabeth, Marlene & Victoria and his granddaughter Quinn Hoffman. He is preceded in death by his father, Hobson Cosby McGehee, his siblings, Kirk Payne McGehee and Susan McGehee Mersch, and his son, Robert Charles McGehee. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Melanoma Research Foundation.
A service celebrating the life of Michael will be held at All Saints Dallas (901 S Ervay St, Dallas, TX 75201) on Wednesday January 26th, 2022 at 10:00AM.
