Janet L. Brackett, 78, passed away January 21 in Jackson. She was born June 27,1940 in Feltham, England. Her parents were the late Jock and Rox McMurray. She came to the United States after her schooling and married Charles Ray Brackett. They were married for 56 years and raised four children in Jackson.
Ann Mary Herlihy, founder of Fondren Traders and longtime resident of Jackson, died of metastatic breast cancer January 14 at the age of 65.
Services were held January 13 at Covenant Presbyterian Church for Diana Chapman Monsour. The Rev. Dr. Josh Cole officiated.
Mrs. Monsour passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family January 11 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland. She was 74.
Jane Randolph Cook Wood died January 6,. She was born in Jackson July 23, 1926, the daughter of E.W. Cook and Lucy Stockett Cook.
Geraldine (Jerry) Nalty Wilson went to be with God January 5. She was born June 27,1931 in New Orleans to Eugene Aloysuis Nalty and Lula Mae Campbell Nalty. Jerry was raised in Brookhaven where Gene opened one of the first ice plants in Mississippi and Purity Ice Cream.
John "Jack" David Sistrunk Jr. passed away January 3 at St. Catherine's Village. He was 91 years of age.
Frank Henry Hagaman Jr., 96, died November 24 in Jackson.
Kathryn Yerger Becker died peacefully Wednesday, December 12, with her three children by her side. She was 86.
William “Bill” Pettit 91, of Jackson was called home to be with the Lord December 12 in Jackson. A celebration of life service honoring Pettit was held December 15 at Natchez Trace Funeral Home in Madison. Graveside services followed at Natchez Trace Memorial Park Cemetery.
Dr. Albert Joseph Simon, born in New Orleans February 9, 1927, left this world December 5, 2018. The son of Lea Ory and Agricole Simon, Al grew up in New Orleans along with his four siblings.
