letter to the editor

Sandra Williams was a heroine

Dear Editor:

When I read of all the heroes of the Civil Rights movement, I think of the late Sandra Williams. The Clarion Ledger has a photo of her, marching with a rabbi, priest and pastor of the day. Here is a pretty young blonde white girl right up front. Sandra was a fine artist, animal lover, author, and an exemplary Christian. The stories of Sandra are legend. When she knew her time was near, she lay down on the rocks of the Reservoir and took her flight. She died as she lived, “a brave little soldier”.
