Robert Belton Sims

Robert (Bob) Belton Sims of Ridgeland went to be with our Lord on Saturday, October 27, 2018, at the age of 86.

A native of Brandon, he played football at Brandon High School and the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss). He went on to complete his MBA degree at Ole Miss.  A veteran, he also served in the Military Police branch of the United States Army.  Formerly self-employed, he was retired.  Bob enjoyed playing cards, gardening, fishing, parades, and Ole Miss football.  Bob loved family more than anything.  He cherished time spent with his wife and he was very proud and supportive of his children and grandchildren.  He had a generous heart and always seemed to put others above self. 

He is survived by his wife Patty Sims; sons Kevin Sims (Kathy), Clint Sims (Misti) and Bryant Sims (Ashley) all of Madison; four sisters: Diane Meek (Lee) of Oxford, Nancy Swain (Bob) of Rochester, N.Y., Judy Sanders (Bob), of College Station, Texas, Lisa Brandom of Eureka Springs, Ark.; grandchildren Kaylee Sims, Kate Sims, Lowe Sims and Stella Sims.

A visitation for family and friends will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday, October 31, at Christ United Methodist Church followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Shiloh Cemetary in Pelahatchie.

Bob was a member of Christ United Methodist Church.  The family requests that memorials be made to The Music Ministry of Christ United Methodist Church, Jackson, Miss.

The 12U Major team, Mississippi Angels, won the 2019 Triple Crown Slumpbuster Series in Omaha. There were 291 teams in the tourney and 65 in their division.
