Miss Banquer and Hood to exchange wedding vows November 17 in New Orleans

Dr. and Mrs. Kirk Joseph Banquer of Hattiesburg announce the engagement of their daughter, Anne Morgan Banquer, to Alexander Warren Hood, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Wilson Hood of Jackson.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. Herman Joseph Banquer, the late Mr. Banquer, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Roman Albert Lukes, all of Norco, La. The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of Mrs. Frederick William Merrill of Ridgeland, the late Mr. Merrill of Yazoo City, formerly of Jackson, the late Mr. and Mrs. Warren Alton Hood Sr. of Jackson, and the late Jack Stewart Jennings Sr. of Kosciusko.

Miss Banquer is a 2011 graduate of Oak Grove High School, where she was selected Miss Oak Grove, and a 2015 graduate of the University of Mississippi, where she received her bachelor’s degree in nursing. She was a member of Tri Delta sorority. She is a neonatal intensive care nurse in Jackson.

Hood is a 2008 graduate of Jackson Preparatory School and a 2012 graduate of the University of Mississippi, where he received his bachelor’s degree in managerial finance with a minor in real estate. He was a member of Sigma Chi fraternity. He is involved in the real estate business in Jackson.

The couple will exchange vows November 17 at St. Charles Avenue Presbyterian Church in New Orleans.



The University of Mississippi recently released the Fall 2018 Dean’s List. Students must earn a semester GPA of 3.50 to 3.74 to be listed on the Dean’s List.
