Miss Clark and Manning planning September 29 wedding in Birmingham

Mr. and Mrs. David Michael Clark of Birmingham announce the engagement of their daughter, Katherine Cecile Clark, to Matthew Crisler Manning, son of Mr. and Mrs. Christopher Manning of Canton.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Watt of Montgomery, and the late Dr. and Mrs. George E. Clark of Birmingham.

Miss Clark is a graduate of St. Paul’s Episcopal School, and a graduate of Auburn University, where she received a bachelor’s degree in interior design. Miss Clark was presented at the Montgomery Debutante Assembly, the Poinsettia Ball and the Krewe of the Phantom Host. She is an active member of the Junior League of Jackson.

The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of Mrs. Herman Weiss Mosby and the late Mr. Mosby, and Mrs. Robert Kirk Manning and the late Mr. Manning, all of Canton.

Manning is a graduate of St. Joseph Catholic High School, and a graduate of Mississippi College, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a master’s in business administration. Manning is an Eagle Scout recipient with St. Richard Troop 30 and is a Vigil Honor member of the Order of the Arrow.

The wedding is planned for September 29 at 2 p.m. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Birmingham followed by a reception at Vestavia Hills Country Club.
