Miss Denney, Washam plan to marry April 28 in Memphis

Dr. and Mrs. Sam Joseph Denney Jr. of Ridgeland announce the engagement of their daughter, Susan Elizabeth Denney, to Bradford Keith Washam, son of Michael Wayne Washam of Memphis and Frances Clair Bullard of Southaven.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Henry Craig of Tupelo, and the late Dr. and Mrs. Sam Joseph Denney of Southaven. The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of Bobbie Clair Escue and the late Richard Durwood Escue of Gates, Tenn., and Joy Ann Luck and the late Louis Emanuel Washam of Memphis.

Miss Denney is a 2004 graduate of Jackson Preparatory School. She was graduated magna cum laude from Mississippi College in 2008 with a bachelor’s degree in studio art. Miss Denney earned a master’s of occupational therapy from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in 2013. She is an occupational therapist at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis.

Washam is a 2004 graduate of Evangelical Christian School in Cordova, Tenn. He was graduated summa cum laude from the University of Tennessee in 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and electronic media. He earned a master’s of business administration from the University of Memphis in 2016. He is the operations manager of EM Printing in Bartlett, Tenn.

The couple will exchange marriage vows April 28 at the Second Presbyterian Church Chapel with a reception to follow at the Junior League of Memphis.


Robert H. Watson will receive Mississippi College’s Award of Excellence at the university’s 2018 homecoming.

Activities include an October 26 awards banquet at Anderson Hall.
