Miss Rogers and Hertel to repeat wedding vows in December 8 service

Mr. and Mrs. Elie Ganier Rogers announce the engagement of their daughter, Lucy Paige Rogers, to Joshua Jackson Hertel, son of Mr. and Mrs. Craig Thomas Hertel of Daleville.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mrs. Troye Demaree of Jackson and the late Don Nead of Memphis, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Leon T. Rogers Jr. (Lucy) of Jackson. The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of Charlene Jackson of Meridian and the late Peyton Jackson of Tallahassee, and Helen Hertel of Topeka, and the late Wilfred Hertel.

Miss Rogers is a 2014 honors graduate of Jackson Academy and a 2018 magna cum laude graduate of the University of Mississippi where she received a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. At Ole Miss, she was a member of Delta Gamma sorority and Phi Kappa Phi honor society. Miss Rogers teaches sixth grade English at Northshore Elementary School in Brandon.

Hertel is a 2013 graduate of Meridian Christian Home Educators and a 2018 graduate of the University of Mississippi where he received a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. He is associated with Weeks Marine as a field engineer.

The couple will exchange vows December 8 at First Presbyterian Church in Jackson with a reception following at The South.
