Miss Threadgill, Whitehurst to wed on November 2 at First Presbyterian Church

Mr. and Mrs. Timothy Meade Threadgill announce the engagement of their daughter, Brittany Meade Threadgill, to Cameron Powell Whitehurst, son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Scott Whitehurst of Chapin, S.C.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of William James Threadgill and the late Leslie Farrell Threadgill of Columbus, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Leon Eugene Lewis Jr. of Jackson.

The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of the late Reverend and Mrs. A. Lloyd Powell Jr. of Jacksonville and Mrs. Bobbie William Whitehurst and the late Mr.  Whitehurst, of Chesapeake, VA.

Miss Threadgill is a 2012 graduate of Jackson Preparatory School. In 2016, she was graduated from the University of Mississippi, earning a bachelor’s degree in communication sciences and disorders and a minor in education. While at Ole Miss, she was a member of Chi Omega sorority. She was presented in 2013 by the Debutante Club of Mississippi. Miss Threadgill served as a campus intern for Reformed University Fellowship on the campus of Texas Christian University in Fort Worth for two years, and as a staff member for a year.

Whitehurst is a 2013 graduate of Chapin High School and a 2017 graduate of Erskine College in Due West, S.C., earning a bachelor’s degree in mathematics. While at Erskine College, He was a member of the school’s soccer team. He served as a campus intern for Reformed University Fellowship on the campus of the University of Southern Mississippi from 2017 to 2019.

The prospective bridegroom is the youth director for Plains Presbyterian Church in Zachary, La., and also attends Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson.

The couple will exchange vows on November 2 at First Presbyterian Church with a reception following at the home of the bride.
