Smith and Rowell exchange wedding vows in Hattiesburg ceremony

David and Nikki Rowell will celebrate their first anniversary on November 25.

 

They were married at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hattiesburg, followed by a reception at the Ogletree House at The University of Southern Mississippi, their alma mater.

 

Fr. Ken Ramon-Landry officiated the nuptial mass.

 

The bride is the daughter of Marc and Tobie Smith and the granddaughter of Jimmy and Marilyn Smith and Jim and Helen Newell, all of Richton.

 

The groom is the son of Jeff and Patty Rowell and the grandson of Richard and Dianne Rowell and William and Margaret Martin of McComb.

 

Escorted by her father, the bride wore a lace mermaid gown with champagne tulle and a sweetheart neckline. The bouquet included dahlia, scabiosa and astrantia.

 

Maid of Honor was Shana Edwards. Bridesmaids were Dawn Smith, Amanda Calhoun, Jesie McClain, Kelsey Breland, Taylor Weeks, Katie Pittman, Alyssa Smith and Lindsey Garrity.

 

The groom’s father was his Best Man. Groomsmen were Kane Edwards, Zach Rowell, Jake Rowell, Eric Smith, Henry Smith, Aric Carter, Perre Carter and Zach Jones.

 

The bride’s cousin Amelia Maurer was the flower girl, and DJ Maurer was the ring bearer.

 

Baylee Walter and Brittnee Martin presented the readings. The bride’s aunt and uncle Lisa and Ken Adams sang Come Thou Fount during communion.

 

At the reception, music was performed by Oh, Jeremiah, a band the couple saw perform for their first date.

 

 

Following a wedding trip to Ireland, the couple is at home in Brandon.
