Wells and Kovalic exchange wedding vows April 21 in Yazoo County
Dr. and Mrs. Ralph Phillip Wells of Jackson announce the marriage of their daughter Dr. Olivia Louise Wells, to Dr. Alexander Jason Kovalic, son of Dr. and Mrs. Jeffrey John Kovalic of Jackson, Tenn.
The bride is the granddaughter of Dr. and Mrs. Waymond Lee Rone, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Heath Wells, all of Jackson. The bridegroom is the grandson of Mrs. Angelo Chopelas and the late Mr. Chopelas, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Kovalic, all of Chicago.
The wedding was celebrated along a Loess bluff April 21 at East of Eden in Yazoo County, home of the bride’s parents.
The Rev. Edwin Francis Wills Jr., rector of St. Michael’s Episcopal Church in Little Rock, officiated the celebration of marriage. Tom Lowe violinist, presented the music. The bride was escorted by her father.
Bridal attendants of honor included the bride’s three sisters, Katherine Barry Wells of New Orleans, Dr. Ashley Carlton Wells of Charleston, S.C., and Eleanor Elizabeth Wells of Los Angeles; and the bride’s cousin Elizabeth Morrison Warren, of Memphis.
Bridal attendants were Lindsay Kate VanLandeghem of Johannesburg, South Africa, cousin of the bride; Calli Cordelia Kovalic of Memphis, sister of the bridegroom; Divya Baliga of Los Angeles; Mabel Adams Lambdin of New York; Sara Sanders, of Baton Rouge; Claire Warren Siminerio of Alexandria, Va.; and Margaret Bowers Walker of Houston, Texas.
The bridegroom’s father was best man. Groomsmen were Taylor Michael Babich of Memphis; Parks Thomas Barker of Scottsdale, Ariz.; Dr. Brett Andrew George of Memphis; Jacob Thomas Hanson of Charlotte, N.C.; John Mark Harris and Dr. Sishendu Majumbar of Nashville; Robert Lee Matthews of Austin; Erik Ross Miller of Baton Rouge; Dr. Michael Sidney Reich and Clark Noble Ruppert of Memphis; and Dr. Kevin Yizhou Song, of St. Paul, Minn.
After the wedding ceremony, the New Orleans band Flow Tribe presented dancing music.
The day before the wedding, Mr. and Mrs. Edley Hicks Jones III, Don Arthur Mitchell, and Dr. and Mrs. Norwood Marye Smith, all of Jackson, hosted a bridal party at the Crawfish Hut. The evening prior to the wedding, the bridegroom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Parlor Market;
After a June wedding trip in Eleuthera in the Bahamas, Dr. Wells and Dr. Kovalic are continuing their internal medicine residencies, first and third years respectively, in Winston-Salem, N.C. at Wake Forest School of Medicine.
