City to set vote for Fondren Business Improvement District

The Fondren business community is one step closer to having a new way to fund beautification, security and other public improvements that cannot be paid for by local government.

Hamlin’s career changes from the pulpit to politics

When Ridgeland Alderman Wes Hamlin was in college and imagined what his future might be like, he saw himself in the pulpit, not in politics.

However, over the years, Hamlin saw a shift in his career choice, partly thanks to his circumstances and the influence of family members. He went on to become Ridgeland’s youngest alderman.

Craft Center to be renamed in honor of the late Gov. Bill Waller; dedication slated September 23

The Mississippi Craft Center has been renamed the William Lowe “Bill” Waller Sr. Craft Center.

The official dedication will be held at the Center on Sunday, September 23 at 2:30 p.m. The public is invited.

Crosstown rivals to meet in annual grudge match Sept. 7

Two college football standouts will be putting their coaching skills to the test Friday, when the Bruins and the Saints take the field in their annual rivalry matchup.

The game, formerly known as the Holy War, is slated for 7 p.m. on Friday, September 7.
