Meredith Taylor Loper and Andrew Steven Miles were united in the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony at 11 a.m. August 17 at the Cathedral of Saint Peter the Apostle in downtown Jackson. The Reverend Nick Adam officiated the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. William Eugene Loper III of Ridgeland. She is the granddaughter of Dr. and Mrs. Jimmy Lynn Taylor of Monroe, N.C., and the late Mr. and Mrs. William Eugene Loper Jr., of Jackson.
The bridegroom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Richard John Miles of Madison. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Clinton John Miles of Gladstone, Mich., and Renee Elise Burns of Madison.
Prelude musical was presented by organist Frances Nelson, flutist Lara Kees and vocalist Nick Aguirre.
The bride was given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father. She wore a white silk dress with a deep v-neck line enhanced with Alencon lace and pearls ending in a cathedral-length train. The deep v back was embellished with silk covered buttons. Completing the ensemble was a cathedral-length veil with lace matching the gown.
She carried a bouquet of white hydrangeas, white roses, lamb’s ear, and seeded eucalyptus. Her bouquet handle was encircled with antique religious medals on ribbons.
Attending the bride as maid of honor was her sister, Carrie Ann Louise Loper of Ridgeland. Matron of honor was Stephanie Cunningham Moore of Memphis. Bridesmaids were Paige Rainer Dye of Chicago; Megan Vandevender Butts, Addison Pugh Miller and Alexandria Renee Miles, sister of the bridegroom, all from Madison; Mary Scott Wofford of Washington, D.C.; and Shelby Wallace Terrell of Memphis.
Each wore a full length pale pink dress. Their bouquets were composed of white hydrangeas, white roses, lamb’s ear and seeded eucalyptus.
The bridegroom’s best man was Jordan Douglass Samson of Madison. Groomsmen were William Eugene Loper IV of Ridgeland, brother of the bride; Christopher Patrick Stonecipher, John Scott Emidy of Memphis; Austin Lee Slye of Ann Arbor; Preston Trey Crotwell, Evan James Von Lennep and Gabriel James Phelan, all of Madison. The bridegroom and his groomsmen wore grey suits with pale pink striped ties.
Eucharistic ministers were Carrie Ann Loper, sister of the bride; Chris Nicholas; and Margee Wohner. Gift bearers were Amelia Rizor and Mollie Montgomery. Wesley Lindsay served as altar server. David Loper of Birmingham, uncle of the bride, and Mary Woodward read passages from the Old and New Testament.
Program attendants were Mamie and Mimi Heitzmann of Madison.
Following the ceremony, the parents of the bride hosted a brunch reception at the Railroad District. Arrangements of white hydrangeas, white roses and pale pink roses adorned the food and guest tables. The brunch menu included shrimp and grits, grits and grillades, candied bacon, a biscuit bar, herbed hash browns, assorted fruit, beignets and chicken and waffles. Music was provided by The Park Band of Troy, Ala.
The evening of the wedding day, the bride’s uncle, David Loper, hosted a “Happily Ever After” party for out-of-town guests and friends.
The day before the wedding, the bridesmaid’s brunch was hosted by family friends at the home of Fran and Cliff Mitchell of Ridgeland. That evening, the rehearsal dinner was hosted by the bridegroom’s parents at The Fairview.
The couple traveled to Cabo, Mexico for their wedding trip. They now reside in Ridgeland.
