In 2019, several families in the Madison County area began dreaming of a place where families could enjoy bowling, arcade games, and more near their homes as that was lacking in the area.
Rav Bedi along with his partners Satvinder Bedi and Navjot Thind all have young children but found they would have to drive to Rankin County to find entertainment for their children. They decided to look into Gluckstadt to create a space for family entertainment as it is one of the fastest-growing cities in the area. Due to the pandemic, they put a pause on the idea, but in March of 2022, they decided to move forward and acquired the land in July.
“As far as Gluckstadt, Madison and the surrounding areas, there is not a place for kids or adults to have any type of entertainment that caters to everyone,” Rav said. “Gluckstadt Family Entertainment will cater to everyone. People can come to eat, enjoy their favorite sports games, bowl and play in the arcade.”
The over 40,000 square-foot family entertainment center will include 18 lanes of bowling and eight additional VIP bowling lanes. There will be party rooms for birthday parties, a restaurant with a bar, and an approximately 14,000-square-foot arcade area.
“As far as bowling, we will also include hyper bowling, which is a blend of bowling and gaming and caters more to the millennials,” Rav said.
Currently, the project is in the design phase with an architectural firm based out of Bloomfield, Michigan. Rav and his partners have been given a timeline of eight to nine months for the final building plans and designs.
“We’re shooting to start site work in the first quarter of 2024,” Rav said. “After that, it’s going to take approximately another 18 months for completion. We’re looking at mid-2025 before we open up.”
Once the team receives the design back, they will consult with the city to get their input on what type of design they would like to see incorporated.
“Since it’s the City of Gluckstadt, I’ve gotten some feedback that they want some type of German feel to the building,” Rav said. “We’re going to have a few different designs, and then we’ll see what the city likes and what we like and try to come together.”
The six-acre property where Gluckstadt Family Entertainment will reside is south of the Mac Haik dealership in Gluckstadt on Autobahn Loop with visibility from the interstate.
