The executive board of The Debutante Club of Mississippi, Inc.will present the 2025 debutantes for The Debutante Club of Mississippi, Inc. The formal presentation will be held Saturday, November 29 at The Country Club of Jackson.
Several debutantes are continuing the tradition of their grandmothers and mothers. The mothers of Ava Yvette Giddens, Marion Lampton Walker, Anna Marie Williams and Loria Katherine Williams have all been presented with Emilee Martha Cummins following her paternal grandmother.
Founded in 1933, The Debutante Club of Mississippi, Inc. has grown steadily and has presented 2,258 young ladies. Debutantes are:
Virginia Hollon Browning
Miss Browning is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Steven Phillip Browning of Madison. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Tavlin and the late Phillip Larkin Browning of Madison and Mrs. Thomas Martin Tyson Jr., and the late Mr. Tyson of Montgomery.
She graduated with highest honors from Jackson Academy where she was a member of Cum Laude Society, National Honor Society, Honor Council, JA Student Ambassadors, Chapel Worship Team, Encore Show Choir, and officer of the Accents Dance Team. She received the Faculty Award and Character and Service Award at JA and participated in Jackson Symphony League Sub Debs and Young Life.
A sophomore at the University of Mississippi, Miss Browning is an accountancy major and a member of the Honors College, where she serves as an Honors Ambassador. She is a member of Women in Business, Cru Campus Ministry Leadership Team, Order of Omega honor society, and Kappa Delta sorority, where she serves as director of Alumni Relations. She is also on the Chancellor’s Honor Roll. Miss Browning attends St. Andrew’s Episcopal Cathedral.
Kennedy Jamieson Fair Cleveland
Miss Cleveland is the daughter of Dr. Kenneth Edwards Cleveland and Dr. Nicole Duncan Cleveland of Jackson. She is the granddaughter of Dr. and Mrs. James David Duncan of Madison and the late Dr. and Mrs. Richard Doss Cleveland Sr. of Dothan, Ala. Her sisters, Elizabeth Hawthorne Cleveland and Marilee Edwards Cleveland were presented by the Debutante Club of Mississippi in the years 2022 and 2023, respectively.
Miss Cleveland graduated with highest honors from Jackson Preparatory School being inducted into the Cum Laude Honor Society prior to graduation. She served as Associated Student Body secretary her senior year and received the American Legion Citizenship Award. Her peers honored her by selecting her as Miss Jackson Prep and she represented her class as a homecoming maid in both her sophomore and junior years. She was also a member of the varsity cheerleader team throughout her high school experience and a member of the varsity tennis team since her sixth grade at Jackson Preparatory. At graduation she was recognized for receiving Maxima Cum Laude in not only Latin, but Greek and Medusa mythology.
Miss Cleveland is currently a Provost Scholar at the University of Mississippi studying psychology with a concentration in pre-medical studies. She has been named to the Chancellor’s Honor Roll and is a member of the Delta Delta Delta social sorority in which she was selected for both their nominating and recruitment teams. She is a member of Northminster Baptist Church.
Emilee Martha Cummins
A native of Brandon, Miss Cummins is the daughter of Coleman and Jenny Cummins. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Cummins of Brookhaven, and Dr. and Mrs. John Hassell of Laurel.
Miss Cummins is a 2024 graduate of Madison-Ridgeland Academy, where she distinguished herself both academically and through her extracurricular achievements. At MRA, she was honored with numerous accolades including being named “Most Beautiful” and serving on the Homecoming Court. She also held leadership roles as a Madison Civinettes Officer and a Student Ambassador. Her passion for the arts and service was evident in her recognition as a MAIS Superior Soloist and Choir Award recipient, UDA All American, MAIS All-Star Dancer, Mississippi Thescon Superior Soloist, and recipient of the Leroy Sutton Service Award. She was further honored with the President’s Education Award and the title of “Most School Spirit” by her peers.
Miss Cummins is a student in the Honors College at the University of Alabama. She is an active member of Delta Delta Delta sorority and was selected to serve on the Tri Delta Freshman Recruitment Team. Academically, she was named to the President’s List.
Margaret Elizabeth Dye
Miss Dye is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard McLure Dye of Ridgeland. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Bradford Johnson Dye Jr. and the late Mr. Dye of Ridgeland, and Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Houston Taylor of Murfreesboro, Tenn. Her sister, Emma Kathryn Dye, was presented by the Debutante Club of Mississippi in 2022.
Miss Dye graduated with highest honors from Jackson Preparatory School where she was named to the Hall of Fame, elected Miss Senior Class, and was a member of the Cum Laude Society, the National Honor Society, which she served as vice president, Mu Alpha Theta, and Chi Alpha Mu. During her senior year, Miss Dye was Pacer captain and the co-chief editor of the yearbook, the Precis. During her junior year, Miss Dye was selected a junior homecoming maid. She received numerous awards at Jackson Prep in AP English, AP calculus BC, Honors English, and geometry. She was chosen as the recipient of the Rhodes College Book Award and was also recognized for having a 95 and above for all of her high school classes. Miss Dye participated in the Ridgeland Junior Diplomat Program, Young Life, and as a Mustard Seed volunteer while in high school.
Miss Dye is currently a sophomore in the Sally McDonnell Barksdale Honors College at the University of Mississippi where she is a biochemistry major. She is also a student in the Haley Barbour Center for Manufacturing Excellence, and a member of the Chi Omega fraternity. During her freshman year, she received the outstanding general chemistry student award, served on the student alumni council, and was on the Chancellor’s Honor Roll both semesters. This past summer, Miss Dye worked as a counselor at Camp Ozark in Mt. Ida, Ark. Miss Dye attends Fondren Church.
Kendall Lynn Edmonson
Miss Edmonson is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard McKie Edmonson of Ridgeland. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Mack Smith of Natchez and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Cleveland Edmonson of Ridgeland.
Miss Edmonson graduated with highest honors from Jackson Academy where she was a member of the National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, Rho Kappa and the National English Honor Society. She was co-captain of the JA varsity cheer squad, was voted senior class Friendliest and a senior class Favorite. She was also a senior homecoming maid, served as the student body treasurer, and was a member of the Jackson Symphony Sub Debs. She is a member of Christ United Church where she served as a D-Group leader throughout high school.
A sophomore at Mississippi State University, Miss Edmonson is a kinesiology major. She is the recipient of the Freshman Academic Excellence Scholarship, the Mike and Nan Sanders M-Club Endowed Scholarship, and is a Dean’s Scholar. She is a member of Chi Omega sorority.
Ava Yvette Giddens
Miss Giddens is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Duffy Giddens of Jackson. She is the granddaughter of the late Dr. George Madison Sturgis and Yvette Nell Sturgis of Jackson and Darrell Gaylen Giddens and the late Martha Ann Duffy Giddens of Baton Rouge. Miss Giddens’ mother, Sandra Sturgis Giddens, was presented by the Debutante Club of Mississippi in 1987.
Miss Giddens graduated from St. Mary’s School in Raleigh, N.C. During her time at St. Mary’s, she was a member of the softball and cross-country teams. She was a Science Olympiad and a member of the Spanish Club, Art Honors Society, and a children’s tutor for Learning with Vietnam and received the Life Science Award. She volunteers at Gateway Rescue Mission, Stewpot, Mississippi Children’s Museum, The Blake Township Assisted Living, Mississippi Museum of Art, SPCA and Second Chance Pet Rescue.
A sophomore at Elon University, Miss Giddens is concentrating on a major in biology with a teaching licensure. She is a member of the Biology Club, Climbing Club, and a committee member of The Colonnades Literary and Art Journal. She is a member of Kappa Delta social sorority. Miss Giddens is a member of St. Richard Catholic Church.
Sarah Sue Headley
Miss Headley is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Blake Thornton Headley of Ridgeland. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Edgar Peters of Ridgeland, Mr. and Mrs. Nolan Arthur Headley of Greenville, and Beverly Thornton Headley of Brandon.
Miss Headley was graduated with honors from Jackson Preparatory School where she served as vice president of National Art Honor Society and vice president of Service Club. She was a member of student council, Pathfinders, Stepping Stones and the Pacer dance team. She was chosen to participate in the Madison County Youth Leadership program and was the recipient of the Head of School Award. She was a class beauty, leader of The Pursuit, and member of the Jackson Symphony League Sub-Debs.
A sophomore at the University of Mississippi, Miss Headley is an integrated marketing and communications major. She is a member of Chi Omega sorority, the National Society of Leadership and Success, and is on the Chancellor and Dean’s Honor lists. She participates in Reformed University Fellowship and is a member at First Baptist Church Jackson.
Elizabeth Marshall Hollingsworth
Miss Hollingsworth is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jetson Griffin Hollingsworth of Jackson. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Marshall Lusk Jr. of Jackson, and Mr. and Mrs. Swanee Lawrence Farrington of Ridgeland, and the late Dr. Jefferson Franklin Hollingsworth. Miss Hollingsworth’s sister, Alice Ann Hollingsworth, was presented by The Debutante Club of Mississippi, Inc. in 2021.
Miss Hollingsworth was graduated from Jackson Preparatory School with honors where she was a member of the National Honor Society, Art Honor Society, Pathfinders, Chess Team, and Precis staff. She was varsity cheer co-captain and the recipient of the Fine Arts Award and was voted Miss Sophomore Class, class representative, and senior class beauty.
A sophomore in the Sally McDonnell Barksdale Honors College at the University of Mississippi, Miss Hollingsworth is a member of Chi Omega sorority, on the staff of Square Magazine, and was named to the Chancellor’s Honor Roll. She is a member of Redeemer Church, PCA.
Harlee Brighton Johnson
Miss Johnson is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Lee Vance Johnson of Brandon. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Randall Dowden Morrow of Flowood, and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Irvin Johnson of Flowood.
Miss Johnson graduated from Hartfield Academy where she was a member of the varsity volleyball team, archery team, swim team, and worked as a Diamond Girl throughout high school. She was a member of numerous clubs including Medical Science, Chick-Fil-A Leadership, Interact Club, Beauty Club, and Jackson Symphony Sub Deb. Miss Johnson was a homecoming maid from her freshman to senior years at Prep. She was both pre-season and post-season ALL MAIS Volleyball ninth-12th grades and varsity volleyball Offensive Player of the Year 10th-12th grades.
A sophomore at Mississippi State University, Miss Johnson is a biological science major with a focus in pre-medicine. She is a member of Chi Omega sorority, Alpha Epsilon Delta, Dresses of Hope, Student American Institute of Floral Design and the Mississippi State University Club Volleyball team. Miss Johnson enjoys volunteering at the Goldton Retirement Home, Make-A-Wish of Starkville, and she attends Pinelake Church.
Sims Barkley Jones
Miss Jones is the daughter of Adam and Allison Jones of Madison. She is the granddaughter of Dr. and Mrs. Charles Snow O’Mara of Jackson, Mr. and Mrs. Walker William Jones III of Jackson, and Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Ray Buse of Tupelo.
Miss Jones is a 2024 graduate of Madison-Ridgeland Academy where she was homecoming queen and a Hall of Fame member. She was the captain of the Patriot Pride Dance team and student body vice president, as well as choreographing for her high school performing arts program. She was also distinguished academically as an AP scholar and for ACT 30+ club. She was also a part of the Madison Junior Civitan Club and served as the director of service for two years.
She is currently attending the University of Mississippi with a double major in neuroscience and psychology on the pre-medicine track, as well as being a member of the Sally McDonnell Barksdale Honors College and being an Ole Miss First scholar. She is a member of Delta Delta Delta where she was honored as the Model Initiate. On campus, she serves as an Ole Miss Ambassador, Ole Miss Big Event’s executive chair for volunteer recruitment, and a student activities association member. She volunteers at the Oxford Special Olympics and gives weekly tours of Ole Miss to prospective students.
Elizabeth Adeline Ketner
Miss Ketner is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Don Ketner of Jackson. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. William Don Ketner Sr. of Salisbury, N.C., the late Dr. Ketner, and the late Dr. and Mrs. R.L. Williams of Louisiana.
Miss Ketner graduated from St. Andrew’s Episcopal School where she was a member of the National Honor Society, student council, honor roll, homecoming court, yearbook staff and various student clubs. She served as captain of the varsity swim team and helped lead the girls’ team to six consecutive state championships. She also served as captain of the Mock Trial team, earning multiple awards at regional and state competitions. She participated in the Jackson Symphony League Sub Debs as well as volunteer service projects with organizations such as Operation Shoestring, Stewpot, Mustard Seed and the Animal Rescue League. She also enjoyed coaching summer swim league and camps for area youth.
A sophomore at the University of Mississippi, Miss Ketner is pursuing a degree in biological sciences on a pre-med track. She is on the honor roll and a research assistant in the Qiu lab, focused on biological research. She serves on the executive board for the Rotoract Club. She is a member of the Order of Omega and Kappa Delta social sorority, where she serves on several committees, including the philanthropy committee, the alumnae relations committee, the events committee and the spirit week committee. She is a member of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Cathedral and also attends St. Peter’s Church in Oxford.
Elizabeth Landry Lester
Miss Lester is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Samuel Reid Lester of Jackson. She is the granddaughter of Joy Bevil Lester of Jackson and the late Dr. Lester, and Mr. and Mrs. Jay Mike Drake of Pickens.
Miss Lester graduated from Jackson Academy with highest honors. She was a member of the National Honor Society where she served as the National Honor Society treasurer. She was also a member of the National Society of High School Scholars, the National Academy of Future Physicians and Medical Scientists, Rho Kappa, Mu Alpha Theta, the English Honor Society, the Spanish Honor Society, the Science Honor Society, and the Jackson Symphony League Sub Debs. She received the 20th Century Endowed Scholarship and the Madison County Youth Leadership Scholarship. She also served as a Ridgeland Chamber of Commerce Junior Diplomat. She played on the varsity tennis team and was an Accent at Jackson Academy. She was involved in student government, and she was a Jackson Academy ambassador. She served as a D-group leader at Christ United Church, and was a member of Younglife.
A sophomore at Mississippi State University, Miss Lester is a biological science major with a concentration in pre-dentistry and a minor in Spanish. She was a recipient of the Colvard Future Leaders Scholarship and the Freshman Academic Excellence Scholarship, and she is on the President’s List. She is a member of the Shackouls Honors College, MSU Fashion Board, Pinelake College, and Chi Omega sorority, where she serves on the recruitment team. She is also a member of Christ United Church.
Anna Kathryn Lucas
Miss Lucas is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin James Lucas of Jackson. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Jackson Forbus of Starkville and Polly Crosthwait of Jackson, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Larry Eugene Lucas of Tulsa.
Miss Lucas graduated with highest honors from Jackson Academy where she was a member of the National Honors Society, National English Honors Society, National French Honors Society and Chi Alpha Mu. She was voted to Jackson Academy’s Winterfest Court and beauty and beau court. On the Accents dance team, she served as one of the officers. While at JA, she was a student ambassador, was team captain of the girls golf team, participated in Young Life and the Jackson Symphony League Sub Debs.
A sophomore at the University of Mississippi in the Sally McDonnell Barksdale Honors College, Miss Lucas is majoring in accounting with a minor in economics. She is the recipient of the Academic Merit Scholarship and 1848 Scholarship. She is on the Chancellor’s Honor Roll and is a member of Kappa Delta Alpha Mu sorority. Miss Lucas is a member of St. Richard’s Catholic Church.
Ava Elizabeth Moak
Miss Moak is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Scott Allen Moak of Flowood. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Allen Moak of Brandon, and Mr. and Mrs. Billy Michael Smith of Brandon.
Miss Moak graduated from Jackson Preparatory School where she was a member of the Service Club, danced with the Jackson Prep Pacers, homecoming court, and was elected a Jackson Prep beauty. She was captain of the Prep volleyball team where she holds four school records, was chosen as Most Valuable Player, and made the MAIS All Star team. She was also chosen for the Rankin County Chamber youth leadership program, YouLead, where she was able to learn and participate in various service projects and leadership opportunities.
A sophomore at the University of Mississippi, Miss Moak is an integrated marketing and communications major. She is on the Dean’s Honor Roll, a member of the Chi Omega social sorority, the UM Fashion Panel, and enjoys fellowship through RUF on campus. She has volunteered with several organizations, including Make a Wish and Casa Encore. She is a member of Meadow Grove Baptist Church in Brandon.
Catherine Claire Nall
Miss Nall is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Kevin Nall of Jackson. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Henderson Nall of Madison, Mrs. Carlton Dale Adams of Madison and the late Jim Austin Payne of Jackson. Miss Nall’s sister, Dr. Caroline Elizabeth Nall, was presented by The Debutante Club of Mississippi in 2017.
Miss Nall graduated with honors from Jackson Preparatory School where she was recognized for her dedication to service with the Platinum Service Award and the Presidential Service Distinction for completing over 200 hours of volunteering in one year. She also received the Service Club Impact Award. Miss Nall was president of the Environmental Club and received the certificate for Distinctive Community Service. She participated in the Tri-M Music Honor Society, International Thespian Society, Junior Classical League and received the Latin Cum Laude Award. She performed in numerous productions, including The Phantom of the Opera, Grease, The Little Mermaid, Mary Poppins, and Footloose. She also received the 2024 Reveillon Director’s Award.
Her volunteering includes service with the Mississippi Children’s Museum, Jackson Free Clinic, Tunnel to Towers, and the Children’s Center for Communication and Development. She was a Jackson Prep Student Ambassador, a Jackson Symphony League Sub Deb Ambassador and received the Sub Deb Spirit Award. Miss Nall performed with Ballet Magnificat! and Ballet Mississippi in productions such as The Nutcracker, Snow Queen, and Light Has Come sharing the stage with Olympic gold medalist, Gisele Bethea. She later served as a dance monitor and assistant for the International Ballet Competition.
Miss Nall is a Chancellor’s List student at the University of Mississippi, maintaining a 4.0 GPA. She is a Provost Scholar and member of Phi Eta Sigma, Alpha Lambda Delta, Gamma Beta Phi and The Society for Collegiate Leadership and Achievement.
Katherine Locke Speed
Miss Speed is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Warren Locke Speed of Jackson. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Leland Rhymes Speed, and Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Gene Huffstatler of Jackson.
Miss Speed graduated from Jackson Preparatory School where she was a member of the National Honors Society, Mu Alpha Theta Honors Society, and was first lieutenant of the Jackson Prep Pacer dance team. While at Prep, Miss Speed served as senior class secretary and pathfinder tour guide. She also received the American Legion Citizenship award.
A sophomore at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Miss Speed is majoring in marketing in the Neeley Business School. She is a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority and works as a Mental Health America volunteer. She attends Christ Chapel College Church in Fort Worth and is a member of Fondren Church in Jackson.
Marion Lampton Walker
Miss Walker is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold DeFord Walker III of Flowood. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Crum Lampton Sr. of Flowood, and of Mrs. Harold DeFord Walker Jr. of Collierville, Tenn., and the late Mr. Walker. Her mother, Amy Frances Lampton Walker, was presented by the Debutante Club of Mississippi in 1999.
Miss Walker is a graduate of Jackson Preparatory School, where she was named to the honor roll throughout all four years. She was an All-American cheerleader her senior year and served as dance captain of the award-winning show choir, Reveillon, where she was recognized as Most Outstanding Performer. She also participated in several theatrical productions and was inducted into the International Thespian Society. Committed to community service, Miss Walker was honored with the Presidential Service Award, the Impact Service Award, the Gold Service Award, and the Certificate of Distinctive Service. She was an active member of several organizations including the Jackson Symphony Sub Debs, Pathfinders, the Service Club, the Biomedical Club, and served as Campuswide Chapel Music Leader. She also completed two MADD service projects.
Currently a sophomore at Mississippi State University, Miss Walker is double majoring in communications and business. She is the recipient of the Freshman Excellence Scholarship and is a member of Delta Gamma sorority, where she serves as director of art. She is also active in the American Marketing Association and volunteers with the Access Program, Care Ministries, Habitat for Humanity, and Puppies for a Purpose. Miss Walker is a member of Lakeland Presbyterian Church in Flowood.
Elizabeth Liles Williams
Miss Williams is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Bradley Emmett Williams of Jackson. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Williams Louis Ikerd Sr. of Kosciusko, and Mrs. Emmett Lavon Williams and the late Mr. Williams of Brandon. Her sisters, Mary Parker Williams and Alice Bradley Williams were presented by the Debutante Club of Mississippi in 2020 and 2022.
Miss Williams was graduated with highest honors from Jackson Academy where she was a member of the Academy Honor Roll, elected Miss Jackson Academy, served as student body president, and was inducted into the Hall of Fame. She was selected as a Student Ambassador, co-captain of the varsity cheer team, and honored as a MAIS All-Star Cheerleader. Miss Williams was selected Best Female Choreographer as a member of Encore Show Choir. She was also a member of the swim team, voted a class favorite and served as a homecoming maid. She was a member of the National Honor Society, the English and Science honor societies, Mu Alpha Theta, and Rho Kappa. She served as captain of the chapel worship team and volunteered as a page in the office of the Governor. She was active in Young Life, a Capernaum buddy, and served her church, Christ United, as a Disciple Group leader. During the summer she has enjoyed coaching the Country Club of Jackson swim team.
Currently a sophomore at Mississippi State University, Miss Williams is pursuing a degree in biological sciences. She is the recipient of the Academic Excellence Scholarship, the Colvard Future Leader Scholarship, and the Student Body President Scholarship. On campus, she is a member of Chi Omega sorority, a campus tour guide with Maroon VIP, and is listed as a Dean scholar. She also enjoys volunteering weekly with BrickFire, a mentoring program for inner city children, and with Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Anna Marie Williams
Miss Williams is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Wesley Williams III of Madison. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Michael Elzen of Jackson and the late Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Wesley Williams, Jr. of Jackson. Miss Williams’ mother, Loria Michelle Elzen Williams, was presented by the Debutante Club of Mississippi in 1991.
Miss Williams graduated with honors from St. Joseph Catholic School in Madison where she was a member of the National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta Mathematics Honor Society, Rho Kappa Social Studies Honor Society, National English Honor Society, Science National Honor Society, Tri M Music National Honor Society, and Sociedad Honoraria Hispanica Spanish Honor Society. She was also a recipient of the Matt Devenney Service Award and the Bishop Chance Youth Award, as well as numerous academic excellence awards throughout her time at St. Joseph. Additionally, she served as the co-captain of the varsity girls’ tennis team, captain of the band, senior class treasurer, hospital relations coordinator for a schoolwide fundraiser benefiting Children’s of Mississippi in Jackson, and a committee member for another fundraising effort benefiting the American Heart Association. She was also a volunteer for various charitable organizations in the metro Jackson area, including her church, St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Madison.
A sophomore at the University of Mississippi, Miss Williams is majoring in biology and minoring in Spanish. She is a member of the Sally McDonnell Barksdale Honors College, the 2024-2025 Chancellor’s Leadership Class, Gamma Beta Phi Honorary Society, and Alpha Omicron Pi. She has also served the university and Oxford community through her membership on the Grove Grocery Campus Outreach Committee and volunteering with the Oxford Community Market.
Loria Katherine Williams
Miss Williams is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Wesley Williams III of Madison. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Michael Elzen of Jackson and the late Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Wesley Williams, Jr. of Jackson. Miss Williams’ mother, Loria Michelle Elzen Williams, was presented by the Debutante Club of Mississippi in 1991.
Miss Williams graduated with Special Distinction from Madison Central High School, where she was a member of the National Honor Society, Beta Club, Government Club, and Mentoring Program. She served as the Limited Prep Captain of the Speech and Debate team and co-president of the Sewing Club. She participated in Metro Leo’s Service Organization, where she served as a board member and Instagram manager, and volunteered with the John C. Stennis Novice Invitational. She received the Bishop Chance Award for Youth and attended Mississippi Girls’ State. She was recognized for having all As from seventh to 12th grades, was a member of the 30+ ACT Gold Club, received the Academic All-American Award from the National Speech and Debate Association, and is listed in the Madison Central Speech and Debate Hall of Fame.
A sophomore at the University of Mississippi, Miss Williams is a double major in international studies and Spanish. She is a member of the Croft Institute and the Sally McDonnell Barksdale Honors College. She is involved in the Warren Debate Union, one of the Croft Institute’s Ambassadors, is vice president of communications for Kappa Alpha Pi fraternity, and is a member of Alpha Omicron Pi. She is a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Madison.
