The Briarwood One building has finally been demolished.

Jackson Municipal Court Judge Jeffery P. Reynolds ordered remediation and demolition of the empty, high-rise office building that fell into disrepair, has sheltered vagrants and is now an eyesore with broken windows and plywood-covered doors.

Neglected Property

Thanks to Nell Luter Floyd for the article on Neglected Properties. I suspect that the recent series of owners of 1825 Peachtree are tax deed buyers and that the title passed to them after no one redeemed the taxes. Tax deed buyers typically do not want the properties and, in my opinion, do nothing to I'm,prove them when the title passes to them.

Finally, they arrive. One day late.

So I went to the city of Jackson website to look up the garbage pickup schedule. I clicked on the button that said garbage pickup schedule. But there was no schedule. And certainly not one by neighborhood. There you go. More city of Jackson efficiency.
