The 2025 Mississippi Invitational Member’s Opening Reception was held recently at the Mississippi Museum of Art.
The 2025 Mississippi Invitational artists include Rylee Brabham, Allen Chen, Sue Carrie Drummond, Connor Frew, Ashley Gates, Jason Kimes, Emma Lorenz, Christina McField, Alexis McGrigg, Jerrod Partridge, Betty Press, and Kaleena Stasiak.
Every two years, the museum presents the Mississippi Invitational, a juried exhibition inviting artists living in or working across the state to apply and participate in a showcase of Mississippi’s creative talent. The exhibition features works across a range of media and artistic practices.
All participating artists are eligible to apply for the Jane Crater Hiatt Artist Fellowship, a competitive grant of up to $20,000 that supports the development of new work through a unique study-and-travel opportunity over two years. MMA archives each Mississippi Invitational, documenting the exhibition and preserving its contributions for future audiences.
