JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — A large anime convention has returned to Jackson after being canceled last year due to COVID-19.
Fans of the genre were back at the Jackson Convention Complex over the weekend for the first time ever as a two-day event, WAPT-TV reported. The event was aimed at celebrating anime and manga, as well as general pop culture and animation, WJTV-TV reported.
The Mississippi Anime Festival included vendors, artists and fan groups. Organizers said they hope next year’s event will be even bigger.
